I first started following you in January, 2009 and its been a fun time reading your blog. I love it and always get excited when a new post of yours shows up on my tumblr dashboard.

Thank you so much for teaching me proper Starbucks etiquette! I now know what to everytime I go into Starbucks and make sure not to act like one of the many people who show up here on your blog. I also don't order Frappacinos anymore thanks to your blog as well. You've opened my eyes to the company, beyond the drink bar or the cash register.

Good luck in Europe and your studies!

I have really enjoyed following your tumblr and learning a bit about what it's like as a Starbucks barista. Thank you and good luck in Prague! It is an amazing city!

I'm one of the RSS subscribers. Thanks for your writing -- I always knew I could get a laugh reading what you had to say. As a result of your horror stories, I feel like I've made a concerted effort to be kind to people to try and make up for the mean people they have to deal with.

    Good luck!

Ahh, I'm legit going to miss you and your posts a lot. I just added your music myspace and you on facebook! Have a fun time in Prague! And if you ever want to move to a somewhat happening town/towns/cities in the midwest there are some pretty sweet indie coffee shops here. Plus we're like three hours from Chicago/Des Moines. Five from the Twin Cities, eight from Nashville..lol.

    K done being creeptastic!

I'm going to miss reading your blog! It is one of the few really good ones out there and would make me laugh so much. Glad that you are on to bigger and better things. Prague will be amazing.

I'm gonna miss your blog, I've really enjoyed your passion, perspective and sense of humor from the other side of the bar. Your stories will definitely stick with me whenever I think of Starbucks.

(Oh yeah, and thanks for the heads-up on those awesome hard plastic iced cups! Those things are great!)

This is my first time writing a comment to you but I thought I better do it now before you completely abandon this blog.

Thanks for the entertainment about your life as a Starbucks barista. It's been insightful, funny, interesting and very amusing (hmm, my vocabulary doesn't seem to be helping me here). You will surely be missed!

I hope you find success in the future wherever you may go, and because of you, know that there are at least a handful of people who now know what they should do once they walk into a Starbucks. :) Goodluck!

Have fun in Prague, and congratulations on leaving, however bittersweet it might be. Your blog is/was awesome, and will definitely be missed. As a former barista myself (I left around this time last year) I really agree with a lot of your assessments of the company, and I'm sad to hear that it's gone even more downhill since then, because it used to be such an awesome place to work. I could so relate to all of your experiences, from the great regulars to the annoying princess-drink people, to the sometime-ridiculous management, and I'm so glad you brought those experiences to people who might not have known what it was like.

    Good luck!

Hi, I just wanted to say thanks for all the entertainment. I don't even drink coffee, nor do I ever go into Starbucks (and when I do I get a frappaccino!), but I've been subscribed for a while because your tales are really universal - and hilarious. Best of luck in Prague!

You've made me laugh *SO* much with your daily observations of life at Starbucks. I know all of which you speak of because I'm a 122xxxx and almost at 5 years. I started as a barista and went all the way to store manager, but life has taken a different turn, and I'm now a supervisor (again) and off to school in a week!

Good luck following your dreams, and good luck in Prague. Thank you for leaving us something to follow you by :) Never lose your humor :)

Keep pursuing your dream and good luck wherever it takes you!

Hey! I worked for Starbucks, too, for a year and a half, and I don't think Hitler's Third Reich is over the top at all... Power plays, suck-ups... Honest, hard-working people getting screwed, and all behind the counter. I digress. (I was fired supposedly for missing a mandatory meeting,,, one that the manager notified everyone about but me... It reminded me of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,,, "The plans (meeting notice) have been available in the local planning office for the last nine months.' 'Oh, yes, well, as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them, yesterday afternoon. You hadn't exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them, had you? I mean like actually telling anybody or anything.' 'But the plans were on display...' 'On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.' 'That's the display department.' 'With a flashlight.' 'Ah, well, the lights had probably gone.' 'So had the stairs.' 'But look, you found the notice, didn't you?' 'Yes, yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'Beware of the Leopard' "... Did I mention that the DM hated me for some reason because I happened to cross her path without bowing and scraping? And shortly thereafter, BAM. I don't think Hitler is over the top at all...

I'm only sad that I didn't read your blog at the beginning of it, and I find you at the end of it. I really hope that you have some good slice of the Starbucks experience to cherish and take with you. I'm now following you on twitter. Take good care! Melody

The caramel treatment is a product in the E'tae product line. Boasting an all natural line up of ingredients from honey, bananas to olive oil, this product delivers in its ability to seriously soften and hydrate the driest and roughest hair textures. It helps people who relax their hair to 'stretch' their relaxer for longer periods and helps people with natural hair by softening its texture for easier detangling and manageability.
